What are Your Thoughts on SMS – Text – Mobile Marketing?

March 25th, 2010 | 2 Comments | Posted in Blog, Internet, Marketing

He folks, it’s been awhile.

In the recent weeks, I noticed a lot of the “GURUS” pushing mobile marketing.

I happen to agree that it is going to be a huge marketing space, but it’s viability as broad marketing outlet for every niche imaginable… I don’t know?

I’ve heard horror stories of people spending hundreds on mobile ads and not coming close to breaking even.

I think the way people perceive mobile has to change for PPC and CPM to be as effective as they are on the internet.

Beyond that, mobile has huge potential both in lead generation and communication (98%+ deliverability and an open rate several times that of email)… not to mention the apps.  There are 10’s of thousands of them available for every mobile OS (Android, Windows, Iphone) out there.

I’ll end it there and ask you for your thoughts.

Until next time… Best Wishes,

Jeff

Is Net Neutrality Good or Bad for the Future of the Internet, and How will it Effect You if at all?

I heard the FCC voted on Net Neutrality this past week.  I saw the following article and thought I’d post it…

“Net neutrality supporters may be celebrating the Federal Communications Commission’s unanimous vote Thursday to begin developing open Internet regulation, but the battle is far from over as the yet-to-be-written regulation is already facing Congressional opposition and will also likely be challenged in court.

Votes at the FCC for the proposal to get the ball rolling on new rules to protect an open Internet hadn’t even been cast when Senator John McCain, a Republican from Arizona, introduced legislation on Thursday morning that would block the agency from regulating the Internet. McCain said that Net neutrality rules would stifle innovation and hurt the job market….”     Click to read the rest of Net Neutrality article
